From the Architects:

Property V2 is situated in Dubrovnik, in the urbanized area of Lozice. In an appealing location close to the sea, which is determined by steep topography produced up of retaining walls, terraces and staircases an existing unsuitable property was replaced by a new a single. In keeping with a long tradition of Mediterranean transformation and cultivation of nature and overcoming of “doc” (the regional term for a depression: a smaller arable land region), stone walls and altitude variations were utilised as the basis for laying new topographic layers in horizontal and vertical path. Horizontal, gently undulating roof plate follows the internal structure of the developing and also defines the body of the home which is incorporated into the landscape by its geometry. The easy and geometric forms of the property with their materials and white stone facades are in accordance but also in contrast to the drywall.

The simple notion of the style of the living atmosphere was to create a home that is at the very same time open to nature but also sufficiently protected against the climate. The superb and higher high quality view observed from the plot is maximally utilized with big glass windows on the facades.

The house is created in numerous levels because of the slope of the plot – the entrance is on the top floor, parking location is next to the street, and other activities are organized in split-levels: 3 bedrooms with bathrooms, parents’; bedroom with a dressing area and a bathroom, staircase, spacious living room, dining area, kitchen, service space, storage and toilet, Tv lounge with a projector screen and space for young children to play. Living and dining space have a direct connection with the outdoors spaces – partially covered terrace with an outdoor pool. The atmosphere is also developed in several levels – terraces that are connected by stairs and go down to the sea.

The facade and the roof are clad in white stone plates massive glass windows are partially recessed into the volume and open the property towards the sea but at the exact same time make certain a pleasant shade in the interior. Terraces are paved with stone or teak planks and all offered surfaces are planted with indigenous plant species and executed in supplies adapted to the location and place climate.
