Created by Vyacheslav Chupakhin and Gennady Martynov of MRTNV, Mandarin is a really uncommon and versatile set of poufs. The name of the project is inspired by its shape, that of a tangerine. The 8 segments that make up Mandarin are interconnected by zippers, and they type a huge, soft and colorful ball. Every single segment is completely detachable and can be utilised as an independent pouf for informal seating. The soft inside filling is covered by bi-colour fabric, 1 colour for the “skin” and one more for the “pulp”. A variety of colour combinations are offered, so that the pouf can fit most environments. The versatile design gives the possibility to create various shapes and sizes of seats. Two segments zipped together offer a cozy armchair, although 4 to 5 of them produce a cocooning lounger. By turning far more segments attached with each other skin up we get a flatter surface, like that of a mattress. This inspirational style is perfect for use at home, in a Tv or playroom, but can be very nicely envisaged in a creative workplace.
